About Options Veterinary Care
Options Veterinary Care is Northern Nevada’s first and only nonprofit clinic serving the public. Options provides quality, affordable, and accessible veterinary care for pets who would otherwise suffer without it, primarily because their people cannot afford the unexpected cost of veterinary care for a sick or injured pet. Over 70% of Options clients are senior citizens living on very limited incomes. Options’ services keep pets with the people who love them and out of animal shelters. Options is made possible by donations from animal lovers, like you, and local businesses in our community.

Why Options Veterinary Care is needed
Today the high cost of veterinary care and spay/neuter can put essential care for pets out of reach for many residents of Northern Nevada, especially senior citizens and others living on limited incomes. Lack of accessible, affordable care results in beloved pets being euthanized for treatable conditions, surrendered to animal shelters, or suffering without treatment.
This is a nationwide problem that is compounded in Washoe County by the rising cost of housing. An estimated 36,000 pets each year in Washoe County go without needed veterinary care because of financial barriers, according to Maddie's Fund research.
Options Veterinary Care is a nonprofit affordable, high-quality veterinary clinic serving Northern Nevada that provides care to pets of senior citizens, low-income residents, and others who cannot afford needed veterinary care for their pets.
With your help, we can significantly decrease animal suffering, economic euthanasia, and medical surrenders to animal shelters by providing families the opportunity to obtain needed veterinary care for the pets they love.
